Young defender Harry Thomas is the latest player to sign up for Alan Julian’s side for the 2025/26 season. A graduate of the Peterborough United Academy, the 21-year-old centre-back played 42 times for Poole Town last season.
Thomas joins recent signings Stan Flaherty and Davide Rodari in making the step up to the National League South, and Alan Julian is determined to maximise the potential.
Julian said “Harry is a proper defender, great physical attributes and I believe has bags and bags of potential and hopefully a big future. We’re looking forward to working with him, especially Luke Ruddick, who is a big fan of his and who Harry will hopefully learn a lot from. We need that mix of experience and youthfulness, and I’m really pleased to have Harry with us and like I say, there’s an awful lot of potential there.”
On signing for the Beavers, Thomas said “There’s a real sense of ambition and momentum around the club and after speaking with the manager, it was obvious that our goals and values aligned, which made the opportunity to sign here even more appealing. When I walked around the ground and saw the facilities, it was somewhere I could instantly see myself playing and progressing. I’m really looking forward to getting going and playing in front of the fans at Beveree next season but most of all contributing to the club’s journey and being part of what’s to come.
As a defender, I take real pride in doing the basics well, staying solid, winning my battles, and helping keep clean sheets for the team. I am someone who loves to have the ball at my feet. I enjoy getting on the ball and playing out from the back, helping to build attacks. I always aim to stay calm and composed under pressure and bring a steady presence to the back line. Above all I believe hard work is the minimum and fans can expect 100% from myself every match day. I want to contribute consistently, play as many games as I can, and be part of a group that’s hungry for success. There’s a great energy around the club and I’m excited to play my part in what I hope will be a really positive season for the fans, the team and myself.”
