Last Time Out

The Beavers were defeated 1-0 at Beveree Stadium last Saturday against Torquay United, with Cody Cooke claiming the only goal of the game, ending a run of four unbeaten.

Defeat for Alan Julian’s men means the club are currently in 15th position, with 13 points from 11 matches.

The reported attendance of 1,625 was the highest of the season to date for Hampton & Richmond.

Opposition

Last weekend, St Albans City narrowly lost their last National League South match, 4-3 at home to Salisbury having gone behind 4-0.

The defeat means the Saints have failed to win any of their opening 10 games of the season, having drawn three and lost seven.

David Noble’s side currently sit bottom of the National League South table and six points adrift of 20th place Chippenham Town, who currently have nine points.

This is Noble’s second stint as St Albans boss, having been re-appointed in May of this year. He previously left the club to manage Wealdstone, where he was in charge for 15 matches.

Shaun Jeffers and Ken Charles are currently top of the scoring charts for the Saints this season, with two goals each.

Pre-Match Insights

Hampton & Richmond have won two home matches this season, beating 2 of the 4 newly promoted sides. The first a 1-0 victory over Salisbury in late August and then a 4-0 victory against Enfield Town last month.

St Albans were victorious the last time the two teams met in April at Clarence Park, with Giorgio Rasulo claiming the only goal of the game.

The Saints are unbeaten in each of the last eight meetings between the sides and have not lost to the Beavers since January 2020.

Noble’s side have drawn one and lost three of their opening four away matches this season, having claimed a point against Torquay in their last away game.
