MATCHDAY 13 Preview - Away v TRURO CITY

Lloyd Hassell
Hampton & Richmond will want to bounce back as they travel to Truro City on Saturday afternoon.
Who Are They:
Truro City became a founding member of the Cornwall County Football Association on September 18th, 1899, and officially became a football club. Truro City joined the Cornwall Senior League in 1931 after previously competing in the Plymouth & District League. Throughout its history, Truro City rose up the football pyramid in the late 2000s. In 2007, The Tinners were promoted to the Western League, and in the same season, they competed at Wembley Stadium in the stadium and triumphed against AFC Totton in the FA Vase. In the next season, Truro City made history as the first-ever Cornish side to play in the Southern League. Four back-to-back promotions for the side led them to enter Step three of the football pyramid. They were promoted to the National League South in 2011. In 2017, the team reached the FA Cup first round for the first time in the club's history when they lost 3-1 against Charlton Athletic at The Valley. In the side's most recent season, Truro City finished 16th in the table.
Last Time Out:
Hampton & Richmond was defeated at the Beveree Stadium against St Albans last Saturday. A goal from Ken Charles was enough to secure all three points for the Saints. The result means that the Beavers sit 15th in the table. Last time out, Truro City beat Hemel Hempstead 1-0, with Jaze Kabia scoring the winner. Truro City is sat just inside the playoff places with six wins from ten matches.
 Who Scored The Goals
James Roberts remains The Beavers's top goalscorer so far this season with six goals. The number nine was recently named The Vanarama National League South player of the month for September as he scored four league goals. Truro City has two forwards with six goals this season, with Jaze Kabia and Tyler Harvey finding the net often for the Cornish side.
Historic Statistics
Hampton & Richmond and Truro City have met each other twelve times in all competitions, with the Beavers having the advantage historically, winning six of those games and drawing five. Truro City has only won one of these games, and it came in FA Cup qualification, where Noah Keats scored two goals. The last time these two sides faced each other was on the 3rd of February 2024 at Beveree Stadium, where The Beavers won by two goals to one. Goals from Joshua Anifowose and Isaac Pitblado were enough to give Mel Gwinnett's team the three points on the day.
