Hampton & Richmond return to Beveree Stadium on Tuesday night to host Eastbourne Borough.

Eastbourne Borough was founded in 1965 but under a different name, Langney Football Club. In 1983, when the club was named Langney Sports as a founder member of Division 3 of the Sussex County League. In the 1999/00 season, the side was crowned champions of the Sussex County League and was promoted to the Dr. Martens League. A few years later, in 2001, the club changed its name once more to the current name Eastbourne Borough FC. In 2002, Eastbourne Borough added the Sussex Senior Cup to the trophy cabinet as they beat Lewes 2-1. In 2004, Eastbourne Borough entered the newly formed Conference South and finished in fifth place. The side reached the FA Cup first round for the first time in the following season as they drew against Oxford United but lost the replay at the Kassam Stadium. In 2008, Eastbourne Borough was promoted to the Conference National as they were victorious in the playoff final. The side stayed in the Conference National for a few seasons but were relegated after finishing 23rd. Since then, the side has stayed in the sixth tier of English Football and has finished in the playoff positions on three occasions.

Hampton & Richmond was defeated at Truro City by three goals at the Truro Sports Hub. The result means The Beavers are now sitting 18th in the table. Eastbourne Borough was held to a one-one draw against Torquay United at Priory Lane, with George Alexander scoring for the home side that day. Eastbourne Borough are third and only three points behind first-placed Farnborough.

James Roberts remains The Beavers's top goalscorer so far this season with six goals. Alfie Pavey is the top goalscorer for The Sports, with the player scoring four goals in the National League South. Adam Murray's side have found the net fourteen times, while Alan Julian's men have scored just one less with thirteen.

History lies with Hampton & Richmond as The Beavers have won seven of the sixteen meetings, with Eastbourne Borough winning five. The last time these two sides played was at Beveree Stadium on the 5th of March 2024. Late drama occurred as Mason Bloomfield scored a 97th-minute winner to secure victory for Mel Gwinnett's team on the day.
