Defender Paul Field has joined Hampton & Richmond Borough to become the 12th signing for Alan Julian’s squad for the 2025/26 season. Field spent some time at the Beavers last pre-season before becoming a regular at Walton & Hersham making 36 appearances as they narrowly lost in the Play-Offs in the tier below.
On signing Field, Julian said “Paul was with us for a bit last year, what struck me from the off was how he conducted himself as a person. He’s very comfortable on the ball but I just felt he needed a full season of games to show and develop his talents. He had an exceptional season at Walton & Hersham and I think it’s time for him to make the step-up. He’ll add strength to our back line, and is a really good footballer, which fits perfectly with the system we’re looking to play next season. It helps that he is best mates with recent signing Ronan Silva, those sort of connections will be important as we look to create that team spirit for a very competitive league.”
On joining the Beavers, Field had this to say. “Hampton & Richmond Borough is an ambitious club with a great fanbase. After some involvement last pre-season and speaking with Jules again this summer, I knew this was the right fit and an excellent opportunity for me. The fans can expect a hard-working defender who is composed on the ball, and strong in 1v1 situations. I had an enjoyable season at Walton & Hersham. Like Hampton, they play an attractive style of football, which helped me develop tactically & technically. I’m buzzing to get started and look forward to meeting everyone at the club.”
