Back Where He Belongs – Ronan Silva Comes Home

Alan Julian has confirmed his first signing of the summer with the signing of Hampton & Richmond Borough Under 7s player of the year for 2006/07, Ronan Silva.

After showcasing his talents in the Beavers' youth section, the midfielder Silva made his name at the Conquest Academy, before signing a professional contract for Crawley Town. This was followed by spells at Eastleigh and Farnborough before joining Salisbury last summer.

He arrives at Beveree off the back of a hugely impressive National League South Campaign for the Wiltshire side, where he clocked up eight goals and six assists.

Julian revealed it was his performance against the Beavers that first caught his eye.

Julian said: “The first time I really noticed him was in our game against Salisbury at home last season.

“When he got the ball he was very positive, always wanting to go forwards, either creating chances with good passes or driving powerfully with the ball. He was a threat that day for sure and at times had me worried.

“So he’s been on the radar since that game, and it’s great to bring his many abilities into the club. I’d like to think he’ll pose real problems for the opposition in the centre of the park.

“In my dealings to get this over the line, it’s clear he's very intelligent, humble and honest. His previous affinity with the club genuinely helped our discussions.

It's a move that on and off the pitch I’m really pleased to make happen, and hopefully one that will give the supporters an idea of the positive direction we wish to go in for the forthcoming season.”

On signing for the Beavers, Ronan added: “I’m delighted to sign on for next season. Hampton & Richmond is my local club, and I’ve always followed their progress.

“I’m looking forward to linking up with the boys in pre-season and am excited about what we can achieve together”
