After impressing towards the end of last season, midfielder Harry Gardner has signed on for the Beavers for the 2025/26 season.
Gardner joined the Beavers in March, and made 7 appearances, scoring 4 goals. His brilliant hat-trick in the 5-0 defeat of Welling was the highlight and Beavers fans will be hoping that was a taste of things to come.
Alan Julian has this to say on the second signing to be announced by the club, as the manager continues to build for next season.
Julian said “Harry has been great since the moment he came in. He showed real dedication travelling all the way from Taunton for training and matches and then really grasped the opportunity. The impact Harry had was huge in the closing stages of the season, and I’m buzzing to get him on board for the new campaign.
“He leads by example, grabs games by the scruff of the neck and drives forward with purpose. He hates to lose, and that is the attitude I want my players to have, so I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with him.
“I don’t think he quite appreciates how good he is and how good he can be, and that is something myself and the staff want to keep getting across to him. If we can do that, and he carries on the form from the end of the last campaign, we’ll have a quality player on our hands, and one who deserves to really succeed in the game.”
On signing for the Beavers, Gardner added: “I was really pleased to get a good run of games towards the end of the season, playing 90 minutes is what every player wants to be doing, and I really enjoyed it.
I signed on again because I genuinely believe in what Alan and his staff are putting together. I like how they work, their vision for the team and how they want us to play. I want to be a consistent presence in the side, playing week in and week out. There’s real potential in the squad and I want to play a key role in pushing the club on and higher up the table.”
