MASSEY MAKES THE BEV HOME

MASSEY MAKES THE BEV HOME

The vastly experienced and respected defender, Alan Massey is the 14th player to be announced for Alan Julian’s 2025/26 squad. Massey joins from Maidenhead United where he made 384 (THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR) appearances across a hugely successful decade with former Beavers gaffer, Alan Devonshire. For nine of the ten years Massey was the Captain, and those leadership qualities will prove invaluable for the forthcoming campaign.

On signing Massey, Julian said “He’s a Captain, Leader, and legend, so he’s a massive signing for us. From chatting to him, it’s clear he is still highly motivated to achieve things in the game. Last season, we lacked an Alan Julian or a Luke Ruddick kind of player on the pitch. Alan coming in now solves that problem. He brings real leadership, organisation and a winning mentality, so I’m over the moon to bring him to the club.”

On joining the Beavers, Massey said “It’s clear from speaking with Jules that he has a genuine enthusiasm and ambition for next season. It’s an exciting new challenge that I’m really looking forward to. From our conversations and our careers, it’s clear me and Jules are quite similar characters. I know I still have a lot to offer in a playing capacity.

There’s not many better things in football than helping younger players to achieve as much as they can, and I’m looking forward to doing that and getting the best out of everybody in the squad. Hampton & Richmond has always been a tough place to go and having spoken to my former Maidenhead teammate and Beavers legend, Dean Inman, he’s told me what a great club it is. It’s just a shame he’s not still here to play with him again so I can watch him run around like a headless chicken!”
