Fixture Focus: Tonbridge Angels (A) 24/2

Fixture Focus: Tonbridge Angels (A) 24/2

On Tuesday February 24th Hampton & Richmond Borough travel to Tonbridge to face the 18th-placed Tonbridge Angels.

The Beavers are coming into this one riding high after one of the best performances of the season last Saturday, winning 4-0 against Bath City. Four different players got on the scoresheet as Max Kretzschmar got his first since his return and Ronan Silva, Craig Fasanmade and Reece Grego-Cox all added to their tally.

HRBFC have now only lost once in our last seven and will be looking to continue their good form against a Tonbridge side who have lost three of their last six.

In the past few weeks, the Angels have had a tough run of fixtures. After beating Slough Town away from home on the 24th of January, they picked up just one point from their next four against Chelmsford City, Maidstone United, Maidenhead United and Hornchurch respectively.

However, they did get back to winning ways last time out beating Chippenham Town 3-2 at home.

Former Beaver Bunmi Babajide is the club’s joint top scorer on six goals but hasn’t found the net in five games after scoring two in two at the end of January.

He is tied with Tom Leahy who joined the Angels in November from Welling United. The former Millwall academy product made eleven appearances in the National League South last season for Maidstone United, scoring three goals.

It was defeat for the Beavers when we last faced the Angels in November 2025, but before that the Angels had failed to win in their past three meetings against the Beavers.

If HRBFC do emerge victorious from Saturday’s tie, they would leapfrog Tonbridge and go into 18th, and if results go the away side’s way they could even climb into 17th.

After the trip to Tonbridge the Beavers are back at the Bev to face Eastbourne Borough on February 28th.

Be sure to come and support the lads as they look to continue their good form, secure your tickets HERE!
