Fixture Focus: Horsham (H) 21/3

On Saturday March 21st 18th-placed Hampton & Richmond Borough host 14th-placed Horsham.

The Beavers have had a rare rest by not playing midweek for the first time since the week beginning February 1st.

Last time out it was defeat 2-0 away to a Weston-super-Mare side who have only lost three times at home, conceding just nine at the Optima all season.

The Hornets of Horsham bested the Romans of Bath City 2-1 at home midweek, stopping a five-game winless streak in all competitions stretching back to the 21st of February.

In the past few weeks Horsham, in their first ever season in the National League South, have fallen to midtable after an excellent run of form saw them in 10th or above from 21st of October ‘til the 24th of February.

Midfielder James Hammond is his side’s top scorer with twelve league goals and is one to watch from set pieces, with six of his fifteen goals last season coming from dead ball situations.

New signing Shiloh Remy is adding some firepower upfront. The forward has joined from Worthing on loan until the end of the season following injuries to Reece Meekus and Lucas Rodrigues. He has made 28 appearances this season in the National League South, scoring two goals.

Former Beaver Kai Woollard-Innocent is making a quick return to the Bev after signing for Horsham in February. He has started every match for his side since the move.

It has been over nineteen years since we last hosted Saturday’s visitors. We played out a 1-1 draw in the Isthmian Premier league on Tuesday 13th March 2007. Rob Paris opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Matt Geard equalized for the visitors in the second half in front of 290 people.

In the reverse fixture this season, we drew 0-0, with the highlight of the night being a penalty shootout between the two mascots.

There are only four games left to watch the Beavers at the Bev this season, and we want to beat our home attendance record this weekend versus Horsham!

So come out and help us achieve that goal and make it One Beaver After Another through the turnstiles this weekend by securing your tickets HERE!

Up The Beavers!
