Fixture Focus: Enfield Town (A) 3/2

On Tuesday February 3rd the Beavers will travel to North London to take on third from bottom Enfield Town.

Due to the match against AFC Totton being postponed, the Beavers last match was that impressive and determined display against Worthing at home.

Enfield Town’s last result was a 1-1 draw away to fellow strugglers Eastbourne Borough. The result brought them level with the Borough on 22 points, with the Towners sitting just above them thanks to goal difference, although they do have two games in hand.

In what has been a tough season for the Towners, their recent form is indicative of their struggles. The North London outfit are winless in nine league games and only have five wins all season.

Their last win came against Maidstone United at home on the 25th of November, and it came in their only spell of winning back to back fixtures, coming off a 5-1 trouncing of Farnborough.

Their other wins include a victory over Ebbsfleet in October, and two victories in September over 16th Tonbridge Angels and bottom Chippenham Town respectively.

As highlighted previously, Sam Youngs will be a player to look out for. Last season he hit seventeen league goals and picked up the manager’s player of the season award. He is fast approaching 300 appearances for the Towners. This season he has five goals and two assists in 24 league appearances.

Striker Lamar Reynolds has enjoyed a decent start to life in north London, netting eight goals so far, including a hat-trick against his former club Maidstone. He scored their opener and assisted the second against Ipswich in their now famous FA Cup victory.

Striker Lamar Reynolds has enjoyed a decent start to life in north London, netting seven goals so far, including a hat-trick against Farnborough. His last goal came on the third of January against AFC Totton.

Overall, the two sides have played each other twelve times, with HRBFC winning seven of those encounters. Last season the home side won the bout on both occasions, with this fixture ending 1-0 in the Towners favour in March of this year.

Let’s hope the Beavers can extended our unbeaten run to three games tomorrow!

The Beavers are next at home to Hornchurch this Saturday in another tough match at home. The lads will need every single one of the fans’ support so make sure you’re there.
