20 year old centre back Dreyer arrived at the Bev on a 28-day loan in December 2023. Originally from Barton-le-Clay in Bedfordshire, Sam started his career with Stevenage, before experiencing loans at a number of local clubs, including Kings Langley where he was part of a remarkable last-day escape from relegation. A move to Bedford Town earnt him a subsequent transfer to League One Peterborough United in 2022, where he is part of their U21 squad. Sam's dad, John Dreyer, played over 500 times in the EFL and Premier League, and is now assistant manager at Burton Albion.
