Max arrived from Chelsea on loan until the end of the 24/25 season in January 2025. Originally from Marlow, the goalkeeper comes with real pedigree, having captained Chelsea U21s and represented England U20s. Merrick, who started his junior career with non-league sides in Flackwell Heath, Henley and Burnham joined Chelsea at U13s, and has progressed all the way through to earning a place on the first team bench for European ties against Noah and Astana. Another member of the squad with multiple talents, Max has represented his county in the swimming pool, and claims to be a like-for-like Elvis replacement on the karaoke machine. His grandfather, Les Merrick, also played football, representing Wycombe Wanderers for over a decade.
