Reading-based goalkeeper Desbois started his career at his hometown club, before moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2019. During that period, he experienced a number of loans across the non-league system, taking in Hartley Wintney, Leatherhead and Cheshunt. His performances at Cheshunt drew much acclaim, not least the string of fine saves he made when the Ambers visited Hampton in 2022/23. That summer, Hampton moved to sign Desbois, who was also called up to England U17s whilst at Reading.
