Hampton & Richmond boss Mel Gwinnett believes his players are up for another intense battle ahead of the visit of Welling United to Beveree this Tuesday evening.
The Beavers have a chance of ending the night third in the National League South, if other results go in their favour, but Mel continues to remain focused solely on what his side can control. "I don't spend much time looking at the league table or seeing who other teams are playing." he said. "All that matters is the work we put in day in and day out."
When asked about tonight's opposition, the boss commented "Rod Stringer has come in and done an absolutely unbelievable job. There's clearly a lot of talent in the squad and he has, very rapidly, found a way to get the best out of them." He continued. "As a result, It looks like Welling are going to be safe this season, so full credit to Rod and his staff."
"They will arrive tonight with just as much confidence as us, so it sets up a very intriguing battle. Tonight is going to be very difficult, and the players are prepared for that."
