Message from the Manager

Message from the Manager

The FA Cup tie on Saturday is sure to be a huge occasion, and Manager Alan Julian wanted to share a message with you, the fans, as to why the twelfth man will make all the difference come 3pm.

Alan Julian writes,

I have been involved in football as a fan, player and manager for over 40 years, so I know that the FA Cup is a very special competition. This weekend I’m proud to say I’ll be manager of Hampton & Richmond Borough Football Club as we host Eastleigh in the Fourth Qualifying Round.

We’ve had a really positive start to the season, and I’m extremely proud of my staff and my players for what we’ve achieved so far. I’m also extremely proud of the support that we have received since the very first game. The fans have turned up in their numbers, cheered us on consistently, and I can assure you it has made a big difference.

This Saturday we will need you, the fans, more than ever, as we look to progress in the world’s greatest cup competition. The FA Cup is hugely important to any non-league club. In the league, we have shown that we can match and overcome sides that are superior to us, both in terms of resources and quality. We will need to be at our very best this weekend against Eastleigh, and that’s why I’m sending this message out to you for your support.

We want as many fans as possible to create a special atmosphere in a game that is hugely important for this football club, so the more fans that we can get inside our beautiful stadium, the better.

For those of you who have been to the Bev before, thank you for your support. Why not choose this weekend to be the weekend you bring some friends or family to The Bev? There are no Premier League or Championship games because of the international break. England plays either side of our game on Saturday, so this weekend is a great opportunity to introduce people to the Bev. I know what a great place the ground can be, and we need every bit of support as we look to make it to the First Round Proper for only the fifth time in the football club’s 104-year history.

I also know how special the FA Cup can be. At this same stage in 2019, despite being a goalkeeper, I even scored a goal. Trust me, anything can happen! I know how exciting it can be, so why don’t you come and witness it for yourself on Saturday? Any help in spreading the word about this weekend‘s fixture is much appreciated, and every single person through the turnstiles will make a difference.

Thanks so much for your support so far this season, and thank you in advance for your support on Saturday. Come on the Beavers!

Be sure to support the gaffer and his squad by packing the Bev this weekend, secure your tickets in advance here.
