The club is delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old defender Kai Woollard-Innocent.
Innocent started the season at Kidderminster Harriers of the National League North, making six starts for the Worcestershire side, registering two assists.
The London-born defender started his career at Queen’s Park Rangers academy, going out on loans to Stratford Town, Dartford, Havant & Waterlooville, and Hemel Hempstead.
He also joined Eastbourne Borough on loan at multiple stages, becoming a fan favourite and making over hundred appearances for The Sports in multiple stints before signing for them permanently in November 2024.
Last season, Innocent was a key player in Borough’s promotion push, being named in the National League South Team of the Week on three occasions.
He also picked up both the Managers and Players Player of the Season awards, and finished the season with four goals, including this peach.
After playoff disappointment last season he followed his manager Adam Murray to The Harriers but is back in the National League South with the Beavers, and made his debut Tuesday 21st October, hitting the post and providing surging runs from left-wing back in an unfortunate 1-2 defeat to Hemel Hempstead.
On his signing, manager Alan Julian said "I couldn't believe he was available, [we are really pleased to get him over the line. He is one of the left-wing-backs if not the best in the league...I am really pleased to be working with him and delighted to have him on board, and hopefully he can recreate that winning feeling he experienced at Eastbourne."
On his game, fans should expect "lots of agility, tenacity, so much quality in his left foot. He is very hungry to kick on in his career and move up the football ladder.
Welcome Kai!
