Hampton & Richmond welcome Hashtag United to Beveree Stadium for the third round of the FA Trophy. The Beavers will be looking to get back to winning ways after two matches without a victory.
Who Are They:
Hashtag United is a side that was formed eight years ago in 2016. In the two years after Hashtag would play their games in a league format, which took inspiration from the game FIFA. Spencer Owen’s side would play against a range of different teams from professional football staff teams to Sunday League sides. A series called the Hashtag Academy had thousands of people apply and the winner Scott Pollock ended up getting a professional contract in Northampton Town. Hashtag United was successful in getting a place in the 10th tier of English Football. They entered the league in the Eastern Senior League Division One. In the 2020/2021 season, the side made their FA Cup debut after being defeated by Braintree Town. That same year Hashtag United was promoted to the Isthmian North division based on the club’s points per game record. Two seasons later the team got promoted with a 97-point season. The team is currently competing in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Last Time Out:
Hampton & Richmond picked up a point away from home against Hornchurch last Saturday. A first goal for the Beavers from Ibrahim Jalloh was enough to gain a point for the away side. Hashtag United is coming off the back of an impressive 4-1 victory at home to Wingate & Finchley with Misha Djemaili scoring two of the goals. Hampton & Richmond and Hashtag United both have three league wins in their last five matches and have picked up ten points out of a possible fifteen in that period.
Who Scored The Goals:
James Roberts remains the top goal scorer for the Beavers with nine goals in all competitions so far this season. Hashtag United’s top goal scorer Misha Djemaili has nine league goals in the Isthmian Premier Division and four goals in Hashtag’s last five league games.
