Hampton & Richmond Borough FC confirms that Alan Dowson is leaving his role as First Team Manager by mutual consent.

Dowse has made significant contributions to the Club on and off the pitch, across two spells at Beveree Stadium.

Although results this season have not met Dowse’s high standards, we and Beavers supporters are grateful for his most recent and prior leadership.

Dowse took over the team in December last season, when it was in the relegation zone and guided them to a strong finish. Ending ten points clear of the drop.

During his first spell in charge, Alan led the Beavers to promotion to the National League South and consecutive play-off campaigns.  Only denied a second promotion by a penalty shootout in May 2018.  These achievements make him one of our most successful managers in recent times.

Investor Group Chairman Scott Forbes said:

“Dowse is a respected manager and a tireless ambassador for the Club and the community. We hope to welcome him and his family back to Beveree soon and wish them all the very best.”

HRBFC Chair Ben Hudson added:

“Alan deserves our sincere thanks for everything he has done for the Beavers, both on and off the pitch. He has given us many great memories, and everyone at the Bev joins me in thanking him. ”

We will provide further announcements on football management in due course.
