Hampton & Richmond FC are delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old Defender Billy French.

Most recently playing at Bexley-based Erith & Belvedere FC, whilst on loan from Tonbridge Angels, Billy adds further options to the Beavers at Centre-Back and Full-back.

Billy played at Charlton's academy for eight years from the age of 13. During that time, he captained the Addick's U18s side as a highly rated teenager. Most notably, he scored and converted in the shootout of Charlton's FA Youth Cup Fourth Round triumph over West Ham back in 2019.

The new signing told us "I’m very confident in myself when it comes to my ability. When I walk onto the pitch, I’ve give my heart and soul for the badge." He continued "I'm excited to be working with a Manager like Alan Julian, and I can't wait to get started with this season."

His new boss, Alan Julian, said "Billy is a leader, he's superb in the dressing room and to have around the squad, even at his young age. He is brilliant on the ball and his positioning is great. On top of that, he is very fast. So as you can imagine, that's a lot of great assets to have in defence."

Welcome to Beveree, Billy!
