The club is delighted to announce the arrival of attacking midfielder Luca Barrington on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
Luca, who turns 22 in December, started his footballing journey in his native Northwest, signing for Manchester City as a six-year-old and signing his first professional contract with the Cityzens in the summer of 2022, after contributing ten goals to the Premier League U18 title win in the 21/22 season.
Later that year he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy, training with the first team during the 23/24 season and making a few matchday squads in December 2023.
He then enjoyed a successful loan spell in League Two with Grimbsy Town, making 43 appearances and registering seven goal contributions in all competitions.
After a short stint at Boston United last season, Barrington is ready to get back to his best, “I am really excited to be here and I can’t wait to get going in front of the fans. They can expect goals, assists and creativity on the ball and a high work ethic!”
Co-Interim head coach Craig Saunders added, “Luca is a really exciting addition to our squad. He’s player I’ve come up against before during his time on loan at Grimsby in and he was excellent so to have the opportunity to bring him in is great.”
He’s attack minded, dribbles well off both feet, is direct, likes to go by people and is a real goal threat. He can play across 2/3 different positions which is great asset for us to have and I think he’ll compliment the group well.”
Welcome to the Bev, Luca!
