Sam Ashford joined the Beavers in January 2026 on loan for the rest of the season, joining his old manager Alan Dowson at the Bev having previously worked together at Woking. Earlier in the season he made 4 appearances for AFC Totton. He has had successful spells both in Scotland with Ayr United and in Northern Ireland with Cliftonville, winning the Irish Cup with the latter.
