On Tuesday February 17th, Hampton & Richmond Borough travel to face 15th-placed AFC Totton in Hampshire.
Defeat last time out against Chelmsford City brought HRBFC’s four game unbeaten streak to an end, conceding a goal either side of half-time and another late on to lose 3-1.
Tomorrow’s hosts also lost their last game, falling 4-0 to Ebbsfleet United at home.
It is the eighth time the Stags have conceded three or more goals in the league this season, and they have conceded the joint most goals outside of teams in the relegation zone, tied with ourselves on 51.
Their recent form is a mixed bag, recording two wins, three losses, and a draw in their last six. Before their loss to Ebbsfleet they also lost to Tonbridge and Salisbury on the road, while beating Dover and Enfield, and drawing to Chippenham Town at home.
They a much better home side than they are away, recording nine of their thirteen wins at snows stadium, whereas away from home they have only picked up ten points all season. They were last defeated at home in November, where they lost to Dagenham & Redbridge 5-0.
A couple players to look out for include 30-year-old Striker Tony Lee and 20-year-old winger Ashley Clarke.
The former Eastleigh man Lee has four goals in his last five games for the Stags and has a total of 12 goals and 4 assists in the league so far this season.
Clark is on a dual registration with AFC Bournemouth and has five goals and seven assists so far this season.
Both featured in our victory over the Stags earlier in the season, and current Beaver Sam Ashford started up front for Saturday’s opposition when we faced them last.
The 2-0 win in early December was thanks to a stunning volley from Reece Grego-Cox and an equally impressive finish from Harry Gardner after a swift counterattack, in what was Alan Massey’s only match in his short interim manager stint.
A similar scoreline will go down well with the travelling Beavers fans tomorrow!
After a trip to Totton, the Beavers are travelling to Bath to take on Bath City before returning to the Bev on February 28th to face Eastbourne Borough.
